Tyrone, Kirk & Chesney's Annual Charity Golf Day & Dinner, held recently at the Marriott Worsley Park Hotel and Golf Club, near Manchester, raised over £16,000 for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). The golfing event was sponsored by Preston-based Advanced Steel Services, part of the Barrett Steel Group.

Advanced Steel put forward two teams, joining a total of 18 North West companies. The event featured Coronation Street stars Tyrone (Alan Halsall), Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Chesney (Sam Aston) and kicked off with a demonstration from Geoff Swain, World Golf Trick Shot Champion. The event was organised by Mark Brown of Events Unplugged.

"Although there weren't too many holes-in-one, the teams were certainly up to par, playing great games of golf with prizes offered for numerous ‘nearest to the pin' competitions," explains Carl Grundy, MD of Advanced Steel Services.

"Another 100 guests were invited for the evening, which began with lyrical music from classically trained singer, Iona Fisher, during the delicious three course dinner. Comedian and star of Phoenix Nights, Archie Kelly, performed a hilarious stand up routine, which was followed by a charity auction. The night was topped off with the Take That tribute band, Retake That."

Carl Grundy adds: "We'd like to thank everyone who attended or donated for their generosity and support."
