Good afternoon,
I would like to follow up on my email of last week to remind you that next Monday is the first of two launches for Catch the Moon, Mary by Wendy Waters, published by Linen Press. This first launch will be rather unusual - to be held in a converted public toilet in The Strand! Yet, despite the unique setting, the guest list is bursting with high profile people keen to lend their support to acclaimed Australian author Wendy Waters for her UK book launch. Guests will include actress Amanda Redman, Jonathan Vickers (lead singer East End Boys), actors Philip and Rachel Hurd-Wood, David Thomas (Head of Theatre & Events Superbreak), Asad Qureshi (film director/producer), Dale Reynolds (actor and producer), Scott Hastie (writer, artist, poet), Simon Egerton (Composer, Lyricist, Director, Performer), Jonathan Moore (actor, writer, director) and Anthony Cable (actor). CATCH THE MOON, MARY
by WENDY WATERS
The Novel
A magical story about Mary, a gifted, vulnerable girl who is both saved and damned by the angel Gabriel who falls in love with her music and claims it as his own in a devilish pact to save the world. With Mary in his thrall, he ruthlessly kills all those who threaten his grand plan to bring Mary to Carnegie Hall where her talent will be hailed as supreme and he will achieve enlightenment for humanity. Mary Granger grows up shackled to a redeemer-murderer. How can she save her music and herself?
Ghost story, horror story, thriller, fantasy, fairy tale noir, this novel defies classification in its originality, passion and exuberance.

About the Author: Wendy Waters
Wendy is already well known as a singer, composer and librettist, having performed in venues all over the world. She is the composer and lyricist of the musicalsScheherezadeandGoddesses, has fronted Jazz bands in Honolulu, Kauai and Seattle, and accompanied Charles Aznavour in jazz clubs in Sydney and Hawaii. Now she has written her first magical novel which will be published on September 1st by Linen Press and which has already attracted rave reviews.
Prior to discovering a passion for composition for musical theatre, Wendy performed as a cabaret artist in Sydney, London, India, Hong Kong, Israel, Spain and Greece. She has a passion for traveling and in exotic places she explores her own spiritual nature, later translating her quest into lyrics and music.
Unique in the field of musical theatre, Wendy composed the score and wrote the lyrics and the book ofScheherezade. Wendy is the only woman in the world to have achieved this. The Music Manwas also created entirely by one person, but that one person was a man. The world of musical theatre has been a man's world ... until now!
This is the career Wendy gave up after doing a three year creative writing course in Seattle. "Writing opened up a Pandora's Box of opportunities that singing and acting didn't offer. I can express myself in my own words - not Cole Porter's - and finding the right words has become a calling."
Catch The Moon, Maryis Wendy's debut novel which Linen Press instantly pulled out of the slush pile, beguiled by it' page-turning plot and the lyrical, soaring prose.
Wendy Waters lives in Mount Tambourine, Queensland, Australia. She has one daughter.
