Young Birmingham star breaks through into new genre
16 year old Birmingham girl, Lucy Tennyson, has today released her latest track in the hope of hitting the UK and further afield hard with her new sound. Known for a hypnotic voice accompanying slick reggae beats, the young star has found a new style with the help of GT's Records and My Boyz Beats.
The track, titled ‘Sweetest Kiss', features on GT's Records ‘The Singles Sampler, Volume 1' alongside Peter Spence and Sandra Cross, who are veterans in the industry. Her previous release, ‘Best of Me - My Boyz ft Lucy Megan Tennyson' was the second single to be released through GT's Records, and had the phone lines of Radio Stations up and down the country lit up like 300w bulbs. The record label and Lucy are hoping to receive positive feedback from ‘Sweetest Kiss' after its release today.
Lucy grew up in Birmingham with a dream to leave for bigger, better things. Singing before she could even talk, Lucy realised she had a natural talent at a very early age. Starting out as a young, determined girl with a passion for the stage - she built her confidence over the years through hard work and passion and transformed into a young, professional female artist.
Her secondary education at a specialist Performing Arts Academy encouraged her to pursue her dreams, and gave her the freedom to express what was bursting to get out. Lucy landed a gig at a charity ball at the age of 13 where she met Grantley 'GT' Haynes - from that moment forwards they have been working on training, concerts, gigs, and developing her voice into the intoxicating, smooth, professional standard it is today. Now, at the age of 16 and after completing her GCSE's, she is ready to push her career forward in the music industry.
Grantley ‘GT' Haynes, from GT's Records said: "This young woman is strong, fearless and independent - something she says that she gets from her Mother - and her voice exudes inner confidence and power. A soulful, sweet mix of her influences (including R&B, Pop, a splash of Soul and a pinch of Rock), her sound is hypnotic and about to take the world by storm - Be ready"!
Lucy will be featuring on a showcase line up at the London Jazz Café on Sunday 18th October with a live performance. She will also be performing at the final of the Young Entertainer of the Year competition at South & City College, Birmingham. Fiercely determined, Lucy has faith in what she creates.
Lucy said: "When you love something as much as I love singing, it's hard to stop!"
