CHEAPER RAIL FARES THAN THE TRAINLINE!

If you buy tickets on major sites like Trainline and Red Spotted Hanky or using machines at the station, it's highly likely you are paying too much.

According to David Sidebottom, Passenger director at the rail watchdog Transport Focus, "Less than half of passengers in our most recent survey felt they had not got value for money".

Extra savings can be found by using ‘split - tickets', provided by the online independent, Trainsplit .com. There's 30% extra savings on 60% of journeys compared to any booking site, railway booking office or ticket machine.

Split - ticketing is a savvy method which breaks down a journey to cheaper legs and issues a few extra tickets rather than the usual two.

Train stations and ticket machines are not obliged to offer split tickets and so denies travellers these extra savings.

These savings found by Trainsplit.com are available for fixed - time advance and flexible walk on fares. They can be picked up from a station as soon as the booking is confirmed.

Here's some cheaper comparison prices on popular journeys between Trainsplit and major UK rail ticket sites.
