GLENTURRET DISTILLERY AND THE FAMOUS GROUSE EXPERIENCE SHORTLISTED FOR 4 ICONS OF WHISKY AWARDS

Glenturret Distillery in Crieff is raising a dram to being shortlisted for four awards at Whisky Magazine's Icons of Whisky Awards. Scotland's oldest and most visited distillery, which will soon mark 240 years distilling whisky from its current location in Crieff, will battle it out against some high calibre competition featuring many of Scotland's other top distilleries.

Securing nominations for Distiller of the Year and Distillery Manager of the Year for Neil Cameron, as well as short-listings for Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year for The Famous Grouse Experience, a title which it won last year, and Whisky Visitor Attraction Manager for General Manager Stuart Cassells, the team will have a nail biting wait to find out if they are to take the titles.

Members of the public can vote before voting closes on 9^thOctober by visitingwww.iconsofwhisky.comand the distillery will be hoping that its tens of thousands of annual visitors will get behind the nominations.

In Scotland's Year of Food & Drink, one of the country's oldest whisky distillers has truly made its mark on the whisky world, launching a limited edition malt, The Brock Malloy, which sold out within weeks, as well as being named in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible.

It has also been a busy year for Scotland's most popular whisky visitor attraction, The Famous Grouse Experience. Hot on the heels of last year's Royal Visitand a £250,000 upgrade to its key visitor areas and café, this year The Famous Grouse Experience announced a partnership with Wilde Thyme, opening up a five-star dining experience for visitors, as well as extending their distillery exclusive Bottle Your Own range to mark the achievements of tennis champion, Andy Murray.

Stuart Cassells, the driving force behind Glenturret's return to the limelight and General Manager of The Famous Grouse Experience, said:
