Unprecedented Year of Success at Cornish Hotel
Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate near St Ives has plenty to celebrate this week after an unprecedented run of local and national awards success.
In just one week this luxury hotel and spa was shortlisted for five major awards; a timely reward for the team's hard work after their busiest season to date.
Tough competition at this year's Cornwall Tourism Awards - which received the highest number of entries in its history - resulted in the unique waterfront estate being shortlisted in two categories; Best Large Hotel and Venue & Business Tourism.
Stephen Baker, owner of Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate, explained how much the Cornwall Tourism Awards mean to the hotel, saying:
"Cornwall has a world-class offering when it comes to hotels and also wedding and corporate venues, so to be shortlisted in both categories of these prestigious awards is an amazing achievement for our team who have worked hard to exceed expectations during an extremely busy season. The Best Large Hotel category is especially competitive, so to be shortlisted this year is very rewarding."
Meanwhile the hotel's C Bay Spa, launched in 2013, was also shortlisted for two awards.
C Bay Spa will compete for the title of Best Spa in the South West at the Good Spa Guide Awards 2015, which is open to a public vote; the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 10thNovember.
The Spa has also been singled out nationally as a nominee for the title ‘Best Spa For Romance' at the Good Spa Guide Awards, with facilities such as a couple's treatment room on the beach, ocean-view sauna pod, outdoor treatment pavilion and a Ruinart Champagne Bar impressing the judges.
José Baker, co-owner of the Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate and C Bay Spa Director, commented: "We're very proud of our facilities, treatments and highly-skilled spa therapists here at Carbis Bay. We are so thrilled to be recognised in these awards - a welcome surprise after also being shortlisted in the Professional Beauty Awards which take place in London in February, 2016."
Also amongst the good news last week was a nomination for a regional business award, recognising the hotel as a star in the tourism and hospitality category.
The Western Morning News Business Awards highlight high achievers in the South West - businesses who strive to deliver consistently outstanding levels of service whilst developing their offering and supporting staff development.
Stephen said all the award nominations are a source of great pride to his team.
"These award nominations are the result of public and peer review, demonstrating respect from industry experts and that our customers' expectations are being fulfilled. For us, this justifies our efforts and will spur us on to even greater achievements!"
