Stephen Wright Elected Chairman of West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce 

Stephen Wright (54), Managing Director of Bradford-based Thorite and past President of the Bradford Chamber of Commerce, has been elected Chairman of the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, having previously served in the position of Vice Chairman. 

The Chamber prides itself on being the voice for the advancement of Yorkshire business and was created following a merger of the former individual Bradford, Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chambers. It is guided by a Board made up of some of the region's leading business figures who are tasked with monitoring current operations, setting the pace for change and helping action the Chamber's vision for the future. 

The Board also review goals and determine strategies for the region's future growth by providing a range of services designed to help business including overseeing start-ups, growing internal teams and providing access to high quality business support, policy and representation. 

Speaking after his election Stephen Wright said:

"I look forward to working with the Bradford, Leeds and North Yorkshire area Presidents and ensuring that the future direction of the Chamber suits the requirements of its members. I feel confident that experience gained as part of previous Chamber responsibilities, including being closely involved with government ministers and departments, can only help facilitate links between national and local business policy, by maintaining dialogue in future for the on-going benefit of the Yorkshire business community."
