Programme of Winter Food & Drink Events is Unveiled  

Scarlet Wines & The Vineyard Tablein Lelant has launched a programme of winter food and drink events designed to liven up social calendars in West Cornwall.

Promising great food and drink, lively company and a famously good soundtrack, the Scarlet Wines Feast Nights and monthly Whisky Club will provide the perfect antidote to seasonal inertia.

Owner Jon Keast explained why he enjoys running these winter events, saying: "There's something deliciously indulgent about hunkering down in front of our wood burner on a dark night and digging into hearty, flavoursome food with a glass of something which warms your fingers and toes. It's the time of year to linger and enjoy long nights in the company of friends."

The programme begins with the launch of the Scarlet Wines Whisky Club on Friday the 6thNovember; the price of £25 per person includes an appetiser and a main course, as well as 5 whiskies to try with accompanying tasting notes - guests are also invited to bring their own favourites for a liquor-based version of ‘show and tell'.

Whisky aficionados and the newly initiated will enjoy the chance to indulge in a night of appreciation, especially as Jon's selection includes examples from around the world (including Sweden, USA, South Africa, Holland and Japan) as well as the highlands and islands.

The Whisky Club will also be in session on the 4thDecember, the 23rdJanuary (for a traditional Burns Night celebration) and the 4thMarch, and the only membership fee is enthusiasm.

For wine lovers, a series of Feast Nights will showcase regional food and drink pairings.

Kicking off with Portugal on 14thNovember, Jon and his team will explore the wines of Australia on 12thDecember before visiting Spain and Piedmont in Italy on 6thFebruary and 12thMarch 2016 respectively.

Feast Nights are fun, sociable evenings, with wine served alongside regional dishes; Jon is always on hand to provide an insight into the winemaking traditions and techniques of that particular part of the world.

At just £28 per person, the Feast Nights are also a great value night out and spaces sell out quickly.

The rustic menu is inspired by sun-drenched Southern Europe and the colourful street cafes of Morocco and Lebanon - all united by common threads of creativity and bold flavours.
