Galloway Antiques celebrates 20 years
of Scone Palace Antiques & Fine Arts Fair
Scotland’s most prestigious quality antiques event, the
Scone Palace Antiques and Fine Arts Fair, is returning to the historic Perth
visitor attraction from Friday 6th-Sunday 8th November to
showcase an array of stunning items on sale from antiques and fine art dealers
based all over the country .
Organised by Galloway Antiques Fairs, the bi-annual event is
in its 20th year at the crowning place of Scottish Kings, taking
place inside the Palace’s main state rooms.
Antique dealers from Scotland and England will travel to
Scone Palace to display items for sale from furniture and oriental rugs, to
porcelain glass and precious jewellery, and meet the many loyal followers of
the event, including hundreds of collectors and interior designers.
As well as many Scottish antique and fine art dealers
returning to the Fair such as silver dealer, Highland Antiques of Aberdeen, local
furniture dealer, Carse Antiques and jewellers Billy Rae and Roselane antiques
from Aberdeen, dealers from further afield, such as Yorkshire based oriental
antique dealer Fu Tsang Lung, are also travelling to Scone Palace to display and
sell their items for the weekend long event.
The team behind the Antique Fair are looking forward to marking
20 years of the popular event which has grown the number of antique and fine
art dealers and visitors in those two decades. Susan Galloway from Galloway
Antiques and Fine Art Fairs, commented:
“We have been organising quality antiques and fine art fairs
for 20 years and have been lucky enough to work closely with some of the finest
stately homes in the country. This year’s fair at Scone Palace is set to be
bigger and better than ever before, which is a great way to celebrate 20 years
of running the Scone Palace Antiques and Fine Arts Fair at this beautifully apt
historic location.
“Anyone who has an interest in antiques and fine art, or
those who want to see some truly stunning artefacts should come along to Scone Palace
and browse at their leisure. There really is something to suit all tastes and
prices range from £20 up to the high-end, more rare items.”
Antiques from different periods will be on display and on
sale including an Art Deco Macassar ebony desk set from Scarab Antiques of
London, silver candlesticks hallmarked from Glasgow 1898 and made by Sorley
from S&A Marsh and a Trivette aquamarine bracelet circa 1950 to name just a
few.
The Scone Palace Antiques and Fine Arts Fair will be at
Scone Palace on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th
November and will be open 10.30am-5.00pm daily with a 4.30pm on Sunday.
Admission is £5.00. Visitors to the Fair will also be able to explore Scone
Palace’s grounds and gardens where they can stand on Moot Hill, where Scottish
Kings were crowned in history and the Stone of Destiny and enjoy walks through
the Murray Star Maze and The Pinetum.
