Rita Trehan to speak at HR Summit and Expo in Dubai
Rita Trehan, business transformation specialist and chief capacity officer at Rita Trehan LLC, is speaking at the HR Summit and Expo 2015 in Dubai in November.
Rita’s talk is entitled Unleashing Capacity – the hidden human resources.
The talk will establish that CEOs want HR to become a stronger and more capable partner. According to Deloitte’s 2015 Global HR Trends, 40 per cent of chief human resources officers (CHRO) are now appointed from outside HR. When rating the effectiveness of HR, the opinion of business leaders is 20 per cent lower than that of people who work in the profession.
Rita will say that HR needs to focus on managing the capacity - the lifeblood - of a growing organisation. She will share her framework for thinking differently about HR and leading it into the future. Rita’s viewpoint is that by becoming more business centric, HR considers the business opportunity first, and then applies functional expertise to the problem at large. By sharing a real life example of how an organisation in the midst of a transformation is unleashing capacity, she shares how HR can raise the stakes about what they can achieve.
Looking ahead to the event, Rita said: “The HR Summit and Expo 2015 is one of the biggest events on this year’s calendar for senior people in HR. As businesses go through a period of profound change, this is an excellent platform for me to discuss the great opportunity that now exists for HR professionals - and how to grasp it with both hands.”
The HR Summit and Expo is the largest HR event in the Middle East. This year, more than 3,000 HR professionals from the region and beyond will be there to discuss trends in people management and business practices with influencers in HR and management.
As a global HR leader at Honeywell and The AES Corporation, Rita helped rethink how business was done. From profitable ways to launch business units around the world to inspired means of measuring performance, she consistently improved strategic operations, saving time and money in the process.
Rita has led change management initiatives in more than 30 countries across five continents. She has enacted communication and engagement strategies, safety, and performance improvement initiatives in 27 countries, delivering savings of more than $100 million.
A recognised thought leader, Rita appeared in ExecRank’s top 75 HR leaders in 2012. In 2015, she won a Silver Stevie Award for Best International Start-up. She is a finalist in the 2015 Women in Business Stevie Awards, having been nominated for the Most Innovative Company of the Year and Start-Up of the Year for using HR Expertise and Practices to Foster Transformation and Enhance Capacity.
The HR Summit and Expo 2015 takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE from 15 – 19 November. Rita is speaking on Monday 16 November.
