CD UK partners with college in pioneering NVQ .
CD UK has partnered with Themis at Burnley College and with PIABC and Proskills to develop and deliver a new qualification in Solid Surfaces.
The Solid Surfaces NVQ level 2 award recognises the skills that individuals have gained from within the industry and in particular where they have received solid surfaces skills training at CD UK headquarters in Morley, Leeds.
Practicing Assessors from Themis at Burnley College carried out their own continuous professional development (CPD) at CD UK ahead of the launch of the course to understand the processes involved in forming and working with DuPont™ Corian® work surfaces.
The NVQ Level 2 qualification in Solid Surfaces is awarded through PIABC, a small awarding body with a suite of accredited and national recognised qualifications and part of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining. On completion, the NVQ will allow practicing operatives the opportunity to work towards their CSCS card.
Assessors from Themis will work closely with individuals aiming to achieve this award, visiting them in the workplace over a period of time to assess their competence.
