 Developers choose DEVImat for their own luxury home

Their company, based in Clapham, South West London, specialises in high-end property conversions, basements, refurbishments and extensions in prestigious locations in and around the capital.

Having used UFH systems on several previous projects, and being pleased with the product and the service they receive from Gaia, the directors chose Gaia's DEVImat for their home.

The DEVImat system is a popular choice for installation in bathrooms, shower rooms and other locations where rapid warmth is required all year round, including in the summer months when the main heating system is switched off.

Installed just below the surface of the floor, the DEVImat electric coils respond quickly, producing a warm surface promptly when required.

However, it is equally suitable for use in other locations - including under carpeted floors in living rooms and bedrooms.

On this project the system was combined with 8mm and 12mm insulating boards to create level floors, over this substrate, the DEVImat system was laid.

Gaia's flexible latex smoothing compound was used to embed the heating mats securely in locations where carpeting and composite floor finishes were required. In the bathrooms, the system was embedded in the adhesive fixing the tiles.

"Having used this system several times on a professional basis for our clients, we knew it would create a warm and comfortable environment," explains Sadia Afghan. "We soon decided that it would be the perfect choice for our own home," she added.
