Rail Company Launches Responsible Fundraising Scheme For Charities.

Trainsplit, the company behind the split ticketing tool that allows rail travellers to make great savings on their journeys, has launched a scheme which offers charities, what they believe to be, a unique way of raising funds.

With a number of charities being under scrutiny for their fundraising methods this new scheme allows them to attract donations in a responsible and transparent way.

Here's how it works.  Rail travellers can make significant savings by splitting their journey into separate legs.  For example a journey from Ascot to Bristol going out at peak time and returning later the same day might cost £124.50 on one of the major sites but by splitting the journey into two parts - Ascot to Swindon and then Swindon on to Bristol - the cost would drop to £62.70 giving a saving of £61.80.  Rail goers in the know have been travelling in this way for years but Trainsplit's booking tool means they can now enjoy these benefits with one simple transaction.  Even if Trainsplit cannot find a split ticket saving, customers booking through their site can still find an advance saving against the standard fare bought on the day and the charity will still benefit.  Also the site does not charge credit card fees.

If anyone involved with a charity chooses to book their rail travel through Trainsplit their chosen organisation/group will receive a monthly percentage payment based on the value of any tickets purchased.

Trainsplit have teamed up with Kipster Media to launch the scheme.  Kipster's owner Kip Parker said "We think this is a fantastic scheme because it is a very responsible way of helping charities to raise funds.  Using Trainsplit's site their staff, supporters and even their friends and family can make significant savings on rail travel helping their chosen charity at the same time.  We are really pleased Trainsplit have appointed us to manage this project and we will be able to help all types of charity both large and small".

Notes For Editors.

Trainsplit are part of Raileasy who have been retailing train tickets on-line since 2007. Raileasy are a fully accredited third party ATOC (the Association of Train Operating Companies) license holder.
