Christmas Comes Early For Cornish Retailer

Two Brothers Foods, a food wholesaler based near Newquay, has opened a new quality butchery and delicatessen on site - just in time for the festive season.

The retail unit on Newquay Road is easily accessible from the town and all major roads nearby and is open 9am - 5.30pm Wednesday - Friday, as well as Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

The butchery stocks a wide variety of quality meat from Two Brothers Foods' flagship "Cornish Table" range, including local turkey, gammon, and dry-aged beef - as well as award-winning sausages and bacon from The Kernow Sausage Company.

The delicatessen sells Cornish Ketchup, spices from local merchant Nature Kitchen, jams and chutneys from Sisley's & Crellow, Simply Cornish Rapeseed Oil and Mary's Pasties - with new products introduced regularly.

Two Brothers Foods was officially launched at the start of 2015 with the aim of delivering the finest, freshest seasonal foods and niche products - including those sourced from Cornwall - to the kitchen doors of chefs across the West Country.

The wholesale venture was the brainchild of Gavin Roberts, who was already a leading figure in Cornwall's food and drink scene as Director of The Kernow Sausage Company.

Gavin explained why he has now introduced the retail unit at Two Brothers Foods HQ, saying: "We spend our time sourcing the very best food products for discerning chefs - we have an enormous amount of expertise in house which we want to share."

Gavin added: "The new butchery and delicatessen allows the public to shop locally and conveniently, with great customer service as an added bonus. Our team are always ready to help - carrying shopping to the car, giving expert advice, and taking advance orders to ensure customers get exactly what they want."

Firm believers in offering a unique experience, the company constructed the on-site unit themselves.

An old porter cabin was creatively converted; cladding, benches and shelving were made from reclaimed timber, and an antique butchers block takes centre stage - resulting in an eye-catching blend of rustic, well-worn wood and shiny steel.

The Two Brothers Foods Butchery & Deli will be open until 2pm on Christmas Eve, and Christmas meats can be pre-ordered for collection.

Local deliveries (up to 15 miles) can also be made at a charge of £5 - or free for orders over £100.
