Balhousie Care Group to help keep children warm this
winter
Staff and residents at
Balhousie Care Group, a leading Scottish care provider with 25 residential care
homes across the North East, have been gathering children’s winter clothes to
donate to Bedrock’s Cosy Kids Campaign. Organisers are collecting the donations
at Balhousie HQ in Perth at 2.00pm on Wednesday 2nd December.
Highlighting that their care
extends to all ages, the generous donations, including winter jackets, hats and
cosy socks for young infant’s right up to eight year olds, will be presented to
Kirsty Douglas, Operations Director of the charity Bedrock, by senior staff
from Balhousie Care Group.
Louise Barnett, Operations
Director, Balhousie Care Group commented:
“We’ve had a great response
from staff, friends, relatives and even residents wanting to get involved in
this fantastic cause. We’ve put together a great collection of cosy clothes,
which will benefit many local children, and I’m thrilled by the fantastic effort
from everyone at Balhousie.”
1 in 5 children in Scotland
live in poverty, with as many as 14% living without a winter jacket, therefore donations
from the public are vital at making sure children stay warm throughout the
winter months.
Kirsty Douglas, Operations
Director of the charity Bedrock also added:
“Creating a safe and secure
environment which allows children to play outside is invaluable and wrapping up
warm in the winter months is equally as important, but some children just don’t
have the necessary clothing to do so. The Cosy Kids Campaign has been a great success,
with many local businesses participating, and the donations from Balhousie will
go a long way, we really do appreciate every last hat!”
