Press Release: International author-publisher collective, Triskele Books, wrap up another wonderful year with hugely successful launch party in London
London, United Kingdom: Triskele Books certainly know how to organise an entertaining, rewarding and successful book launch event - not just for one but four books. On November 28th2015, the five ladies behind the innovative indie author-publisher collective, Triskele Books, convened in The English Restaurant, London with 50 guests to launch four of their latest novels (two crime thriller fiction and two historical fiction) to a crowd of old and new fans.
The copies almost all sold out before the end of the party, the guest list was at capacity and the live readings by actors brought each book to life in a truly charming way. With the five members being scattered around Europe most of the year; from Cumbria to Anglesey, Zurich to France, getting the group together is no mean feat and a reason to celebrate in its own right! However, with more than 20 books now published between them they are amassing a legion of loyal readers, who support this unique author collective in a manner that must be envied by the mainstream publishers. The relationship between reader and Triskele writer is nurtured via social media, emails, reviews and feedback, and the annual get-together provides a chance to put faces to names, and catch up with readers who fast become friends.
Gillian Hamer of Triskele Books says:"From a Triskele perspective, it was our most successful launch to date. Everyone virtually sold out of books and caught up with friends and supporters, old and new. Big thanks to Orna Ross from the Alliance of Independent Authors who attended and went away with a bag full of books!"
Catriona Troth performed a wonderful job as host and presenter, interviewing each author after the accomplished readings. JJ Marsh surprised the crowd by announcing that the next book would be the last in the popular Beatrice Stubbs series and Amanda Hodgkinson (NY Times bestselling author of 22, Britannia Road) gave a passionate rendition from JD Smith's The Better of Two Men.
Key Facts & Quotes From The Triskele Launch Party 2015
Four books launched at the event in November 2015:
False Lights by Gillian E Hamer
The Better of Two Men by JD Smith
Human Rites by JJ Marsh
Blood Rose Angel by Liza Perrat
The Triskele team was joined by actors who brought sections of their new books alive via inspiring readings.
These were Amanda Hodgkinson (NY Times bestselling author), Piers Bearne who, writing as Piers Alexander, is author of the bestselling novel, The Bitter Trade.
There were then two further readings by fellow indie author and member of the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), Jessica Bell and indie author and ALLi member, Rohan Quine.
Gillian Hamer: "A fabulous launch. I sold out of books and wish I'd brought more with me. It was also brilliant to catch up with people I'd not seen for years. I always look forward to our annual event and it seems to get bigger and better year on year.'
Gillian Hamer's highlight of the event: "Having experienced writers and actors to read from our books was a highlight for me. I thought Piers did a brilliant job of False Lights, even nailing the Welsh accent! He was clearly nervous and wanted to do the book justice. Amanda also admitted it was more nerve-wracking reading Jane's book than reading her own! It's so nice when authors come together to support each other."
JJ Marsh: "Still stunned by the support of loyal friends and family, fellow authors, and talented readers who brought our texts to life."
JJ Marsh's highlight of the event: "Talking books, writing and ideas with old friends. Plus judging Piers's Welsh accent."
Catriona Troth: "So proud of my fellow Triskele authors, who have brought out four more excellent books. It was a pleasure to hear them showcased by four great readers, and to have chance to probe the authors about their future plans."
Catriona Troth's highlight: "Meeting up with friends and writing colleagues, some of whom I haven't met up with since the very first Triskele launch in June 2012."
Liza Perrat: "Effervescent, eclectic, exciting, exhilarating, enthralling, electrifying!"
Liza Perrat's highlight: "Friends I've not seen in a long time making the effort to travel long distances to celebrate my book launch."
JD Smith: "It was one of the least stressful launches we have organised to date, probably because we've hosted so many now, and are an old hand. I really enjoyed listening to the actors bring to life our books. Somehow it gave them an impact and edge I hadn't before witnessed."
JD Smith's highlight: "Meeting up with old friends and people I hadn't before had the pleasure of knowing in the flesh. Plus the great delight of being able to share the experience with one of my children, Alexander, who thoroughly enjoyed the event."
