Avalon donates to Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Avalon, one of Europe’s leading providers of pre-paid funeral plans, has raised over €650 for the 2014 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Europe.

With its permanent stand in the Zenia Boulevard in Alicante, one of Europe’s largest open-air shopping centres, Avalon recently raised €439 for the charity. The company raised an additional €227 in Mijas Costa in Costa del Sol during October 2014.

Avalon also runs fundraising events and activity throughout the year in southern Spain.

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal helps dependants of service personnel killed in conflicts. The appeal also contributes to the welfare of service personnel who are injured, living with illness or experiencing hard times.

Jason Gardner, head of Europe at Avalon, said: “We’re very proud of our Avalon team in Spain. They’ve raised a fantastic sum for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. This cause is close to the hearts of many British expats living in Spain, so we’re delighted to give them a chance to support the appeal. We’ll be continuing our support and raising more money throughout 2015.”

As well as the UK, Avalon has offices in Alicante, Malaga and Almeria as well as Paphos, Cyprus.

Avalon protects customers from rising funeral costs and the worry of arranging a funeral - which can be complex outside the UK. Avalon’s three comprehensive packages, Balmoral, Windsor Way and Britannia, are available in Spain, Portugal and Tenerife. Alternative plans are available for customers residing in Cyprus, Malta and Turkey.
