Avalon appoints Liz Younger as head of risk and compliance

Avalon, the provider of pre-paid funeral plans, has appointed experienced risk manager, Liz Younger, as head of risk and compliance.

Liz has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, 28 of them with The Royal Bank of Scotland. She has worked in London, Madrid, Amsterdam, Manchester and Dublin. Her skills include risk identification and management, process improvement, business integration, team leadership, relationship management and stakeholder engagement.

During the last 10 years, Liz has focused on risk management, compliance and operational efficiency, achieving real improvements in risk ratings and processes. 

Speaking about the appointment, Avalon CEO, Steve Chambers said: “With her international experience, diverse skills and knowledge of auditing best practice, Liz is an invaluable addition to the senior team at Avalon.
