Avalon joins Funeral Planning Authority
Avalon, the specialist provider of pre-paid funeral plans, is delighted to announce that its UK business is now a registered provider of the Funeral Planning Authority (FPA).
The FPA protects consumers’ interests across the UK funeral planning sector. An independent body owned by the Funeral Planning Council and the National Association for Pre-Paid Funeral Plans, it ensures that registered providers maintain high standards and safeguard funds paid by customers so that, when the time comes, their funeral is provided in accordance with their wishes. FPA registered providers adhere to a stringent Code of Practice and Rules that encompass customer service, professional conduct, governance and financial stability.
To gain registration, Avalon had to demonstrate the ability to adhere to the Code of Practice and the Rules to the satisfaction of the FPA’s Independent Compliance Committee.
With its new leadership in place, Avalon is transforming its business and putting the customer at the heart of everything it does. FPA registration demonstrates the value of the increased emphasis the company has embedded on sales compliance, customer service and professionalism.
Speaking about the FPA membership, Avalon CEO, Steve Chambers said: “Since the new leadership at Avalon came in, we’ve seen strong growth in the UK and Europe. Becoming a FPA registered provider is another big step in our development. Everyone here at Avalon has worked hard to reach this milestone and I congratulate them for their contribution. FPA registration helps our customers to know that they are taking the emotional and financial worry away by pre-planning for their funeral with a company that maintains high standards of professional conduct and safeguards the money that they have paid.”
CEO of the FPA, Graeme McAusland, commented: “I am pleased Avalon has been able to demonstrate their ability to satisfy the registration criteria and become FPA registered providers. We look forward to working with their team to ensure they can continue to demonstrate adherence to our Code of Practice and Rules.”
Avalon protects customers from rising funeral costs and their loved ones from the worry of arranging a funeral when the time comes. Avalon’s three comprehensive packages, Balmoral, Highgrove and Windsor Way are available in the UK. Avalon funeral plans are also available in Spain, Portugal, Tenerife, Cyprus, Malta and Turkey.
