Third of properties snapped up before online listings go live, says Castles Residential Sales & Lettings 

One property in every three that go up for sale or rental in Swindon never makes it onto the internet.

That startling statistic was revealed by Mark Noble, founder and managing director of leading independent Swindon estate agent, Castles Residential Sales & Lettings.

Urging people not to rely on internet searches alone, Mark said: “We strongly recommend anyone looking for a new home to register with us the minute they start. People are missing out because many homes get snapped up without being advertised publically. Similarly, anyone wishing to sell or let their home should call us as soon as possible too, as we have waiting lists of potential buyers and tenants for homes of all types and sizes.”

At Castles Residential Sales & Lettings, some properties are selling and letting within days, if not hours of becoming available.

The gathering pace of the property boom in Swindon is such that online portals like Rightmove and Zoopla are unable to keep up. “There are several buyers for every property in Swindon,” says Mark. “Very often, by the time a home appears on the portals, it’s gone. Some people are afraid to put their homes on the market as they’re worried they won’t find what they’re looking for. We have new properties going up for sale every day, yet in some cases the only way to find out about them before they sell is to register with us.”
