Castles confirms sponsorship of International Women’s Day Swindon

Castles Residential Sales & Lettings has thrown its support behind International Women’s Day (IWD) Swindon.

The company, one of Swindon’s leading estate agents, has confirmed a sponsorship package for the event, which this year falls on Saturday 5 March 2016. On that day a talk and panel discussion at the Central Library on will take place from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm. Other highlights include an evening performance and talk is at Swindon Dance on Friday 11 March.

Looking forward to IWD, Anna Rouse, lettings manager at Castles, said: “We’re extremely proud to support women and girls in around Swindon. Estate agency is traditionally a male dominated sector. However, at Castles, half our staff are female. We’re proud to be challenging – and changing – outdated perceptions, so to get involved with IWD was a natural decision for us.”

IWD Swindon is designed to help women and girls shape their futures by networking, engaging with technology and sharing their ideas.

IWD Swindon is a volunteer led, community group based in Swindon. Its aim is to enlighten, stimulate and inspire women and girls of all ages.

Events in Swindon to mark International Women’s Day include a three-venue exhibition titled Dress:Code at ArtSite’s Number 9 Gallery, the Museum of Computing and Central Library from 4 to 31 March. This will address the topic of women and girls in technology through contemporary art, information and museum exhibits. There will also be workshops and special events throughout the month.

IWD Swindon 2016 is a partnership with ArtSite, Swindon College, Swindon Dance, Swindon Library and The Museum of Computing.

Karen Roswell, co-organiser of the IWD Swindon events, said: “Our motto this year is equality for women in the age of technology. Research shows that there’s been a marked decline in the number women in computing since the 1980s and there are still too few girls and women entering the industry. People coming to the IWD Swindon events will hear from inspirational experts who will be sharing their knowledge and insights.”

With over 200 customer reviews on allAgents.co.uk, Castles enjoys an overall customer rating of 4.8 out of 5. The business is ranked 101 out of 14,466 UK estate agents on the site as of 24 February 2016.

It was handpicked by Cartus, the world’s premier provider of relocation services as Swindon’s only relocation agent and was selected for memberships with The Guild of Professional Estate Agents and The Relocation Agent Network.

The company won the Wiltshire Small Business of the Year award in 2007 and The Relocation Agent Network’s Best Agent regional award for Wiltshire in 2011 and 2012. In 2014, Castles finished runner-up and received a commendation in the latter award.

Last year, Castles won two awards at the 2015 allAgents Awards. The company took home the prizes for the best sales agent and the best lettings agent in Swindon.
