Cyclefit to launch Manchester store
Cyclefit, the high-end cycle company that pioneered bike fitting in Europe, is opening a new store in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in spring 2015
It has been a long journey from virtual snake-oil pedlars to an industry that was barely ready to be disrupted in 2002, to BikeBiz National Industry Award winners in 2013.
The company’s new 3,500 sq/ft store is in a Grade II Listed yarn mill. It will comprise two state-of-the-art bike fitting studios, changing and consultations rooms, showers and a fully equipped workshop. The retail area will exclusively offer full-custom bikes from Parlee, Seven and Passoni and stock bikes from Trek, Cervelo and BMC.
Speaking about the launch, Cyclefit co-founder, Phil Cavell, said: “When we started thinking about Cyclefit beyond Central London, there was only really one place: Manchester – The home of British Cycling. We already loved its vibrancy and originality and, while searching for a site in The Northern Quarter, we got immersed in the city’s history and architecture. Eventually we found our dream home in an old yarn mill in The Northern Quarter. We’re now looking forward to offering riders in Manchester and the surrounding areas a choice between comfort, performance and customisation or a bespoke combination of all three.”
Cavell added: “Cyclefit has evolved into a Gemini personality. From cutting-edge science that encompassing the medical and academic communities to our relaxed retail environment. Customer service is the core of our DNA and I think our customers are the happiest in the country.”
Cyclefit was the first company to introduce bike fitting to the UK’s cyclists and see everything through the prism of biomechanics. Cyclefit also provides bike fitting and exclusive cycling products from its Covent Garden store at 11-13 Macklin Street, London, WC2B 5NH.

Cyclefit helps professional athletes achieve biomechanical perfection to optimise performance. It uses its experience and knowledge from this work to benefit clients of all cycling levels.
