UTC Swindon #bleedred for Swindon Wildcats this season

UTC Swindon has become an official sponsor of the ice hockey team, Swindon Wildcats.

The college’s logo will appear on the advertising hoardings at the ice rink at the Link Centre. UTC Swindon will also be mentioned on PA and big screen announcements.

The sponsorship entitles UTC Swindon to two tickets to every Swindon Wildcats home game to give to staff or students or use in social media campaigns. College representatives will hand out promotional material at games and present man of the match awards throughout the season.

Speaking about the sponsorship, UTC Swindon Principal, Angela Barker-Dench, said: “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Swindon Wildcats. After cheering on the team for the first time, I knew that the Wildcats, with its Link Centre ice ring location, and UTC Swindon would make a great partnership. Swindon Wildcats matches will give us a great opportunity to meet potential students as they make a great family day out.”

Swindon Wildcats marketing manager, Sally Price, said: “We’re delighted to welcome UTC Swindon as sponsor or Swindon Wildcats and we’re looking forward to working with Angela over the coming months.”

UTC Swindon caters for 600 students aged 14 to 19, providing courses for young people who aspire to a career in engineering. Students at the college can gain the skills necessary across all sectors of the engineering industries.

UTC Swindon occupies a new, £10 million state-of-the-art facility, with the Old School Building and the iconic Water Tower featuring prominently. Both structures, which are Grade II listed, have been treated sympathetically, with the Water Tower being restored and brought back into educational use.

Founded in 1986, Swindon Wildcats is a member of the English Premier Ice Hockey League. Playing their home games at Swindon’s Link Centre, the ice rink sees up to 1,500 fans attend each match.
