Monahans' Peta Fry to speak at EdExec Live 2014
Peta Fry, Director of HR at west England accountancy group, Monahans, will be a guest speaker at two seminars at this month's EdExec Live in London.
EdExec Live is a one-day event, providing an interactive learning experience for bursars and school business managers.
Peta's first seminar, ‘Soft Silky Skills', offers tips on dealing with conflict in the workplace and developing skills for challenging HR situations. Peta will explore the causes and signs of conflict and its impact on individuals, teams and organisations. The seminar will highlight the importance of early intervention, communication and mediation when dealing with conflict.
The second seminar, ‘Recruiting the Cream of the Crop', will focus on attracting and retaining staff in the education sector. Peta will discuss employer and role promotion, effective engagement with applicants, interviewing techniques, the offer stage and subsequent steps in the recruitment process.
Peta Fry is director of Monahans HR Consultancy and a fellow of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development). She is retained by an independent specialist college to provide HR support. Peta has also worked with schools and colleges on several projects, from formulating redundancy programmes to managing investigations into bullying.
Peta has undertaken reviews of HR policies, procedures and documentation and coached managers in people management activities. These include selection interviewing, managing sickness absence and chairing a disciplinary hearing.
