Monahans to hold Charity Seminar at Chippenham Golf Club

Monahans, one of the largest accountancy firms in the west of England, is holding a Charity Seminar at the Chippenham Golf Club on Thursday 13 November 2014.

The event will be chaired by David Philpott, chief executive of Wiltshire Air Ambulance. David will talk about the issues faced by his charity.

Putting the complexities of charity accounting under the microscope, the Monahans Charity Seminar will examine a range of relevant topics. These include the latest charity SORPs (Statements of Recommended Practice), trustee responsibilities, VAT and HR.

With many not for profit clients throughout Wiltshire and Somerset, Monahans understands the issues faced by charities and is well placed to provide expert professional consultancy.

Mike Shawyer - Managing Partner

Mike is a specialist in VAT planning and advice. His areas of expertise include property transactions including new build projects, international services provision and partial exemption issues. Mike helps Monahans' clients navigate complex tax issues and minimise their VAT liability.

Steve Fraser - Partner

Working with regulated clients such as charities, academies and pension schemes, Steve provides expert consultancy for compliance-led matters such as auditing, accounting and taxation. He also offers practical financial advice to organisations across all industry sectors.

Linda Boss - Partner

Linda is a charity specialist. Her diverse portfolio includes academies, charities, family businesses and individual companies. She has served as a school governor and a trustee of a small local charity. Linda has also worked on a voluntary basis for the Prince's Trust, interviewing applicants for funding.

Steve and Linda hold the ICACW Diploma in Charity Accounting, a qualification that acknowledges expertise and experience in this area at the highest level.

Peta Fry - HR Director

Working in a variety of sectors including charities, SMEs, international companies and the NHS, Peta has established HR strategies and teams to help businesses grow while operating within employment legislation.

The Monahans Charity Seminar will take place at the Chippenham Golf Club, Malmesbury Road, Chippenham, SN15 5LT on Thursday 13 November 2014. Doors will open for refreshments and networking at 8.30am. The seminar will run from 9.00am to 10.30am.
