Kelkay’s Richard Pyrah walks for Garden Re-Leaf Day 

Richard Pyrah, director of sales at Kelkay, the market-leading manufacturer and distributor of aggregates, paving, fountains and garden features, took part in a 20-mile sponsored walk for Greenfingers’ Garden Re-Leaf Day on Friday 27 March.

The walk, which started at Ruxley Manor Garden Centre in Sidcup, Kent, followed the river Thames to Clifton Nurseries in Little Venice. It raised funds for Greenfingers, the charity that helps more than 600 families in children’s hospices in the UK. Richard was one of 20 garden industry leaders taking part in the event. 

Also taking part were Carol Paris, chief executive of the Horticultural Trades Association, Will Armitage, chairman of the Garden Centre Association, Al Sheppard, head of sales at Burgon & Ball and Alastair Jackson, general manager at Poplars Garden Centre.

After completing the walk, Richard said: “This is a fantastic event that fits perfectly with Kelkay’s commitment to supporting our community. The proceeds of Greenfingers’ Garden Re-Leaf day, which last year exceeded £60,000, go to a very worthy cause and we’re delighted to play our part.”

Greenfingersis a small national charity, supporting children’s hospices around the UK. It creates beautiful, well-designed gardens for hospice users and their families to relax in and enjoy. To date, Greenfingers has created 44 inspiring gardens in hospices around the country and has a waiting list of more that need its help.
